When you have high blood pressure, your doctor might prescribe you a pill or tablet which will help your body to remove fluid or water. As a matter of fact, when your body removes lots of water or fluid, your blood pressure will be low. This treatment has been done for many years and some people consider it as a right treatment. However, you must realize now, that there are always side effects from such treatment.

Diuretics, which are commonly known as water pills or tablets, have been widely used by lots of people for many reasons. As a matter of fact, diuretics refer to any substances or medicines which help to remove water or fluid from the body. Since it is a substance added to the natural function of the body, it certainly has side effects. There have been some effects reported as the drawbacks of this treatment so that such treatment must be prescribed and monitored by doctors or physician. The side effects of diuretics are mainly influenced by the type of diuretic patients take but generally patients will experience feeling sick, digestive problems, gout, muscle pain, and skin rush.

In addition, diuretics can also reduce the minerals balance in the body. Some patients can feel dizzy within the first days of the treatment. Since such effects can be dangerous, patients must consult doctors before they undergo this treatment.
